Larry GigerichLarry Gigerich, managing director at Ginovus, is a nationally recognized economic development leader with more than 20 years of local and state government, not-for-profit and private sector experience. Larry has worked on approximately 500 economic development projects resulting in over $10 billion of capital investment, the creation of over 80,000 new jobs and the retention of over 160,000 existing jobs. At Ginovus, Larry has served nationally recognized companies such as: BP, Coachman Industries, Comcast, Dorel Juvenile Group, Dow AgroSciences, ExactTarget, Formica, Genesco, Interactive Intelligence, Multi-Color Corporation, Oracle, Reckitt Benckiser, Redcats, The Capital Group Companies, The Finish Line and Roche Diagnostics.

Prior to founding Ginovus in 2002, Larry worked in a variety of economic development settings, including Deputy Director of Business Development for the Indiana Department of Commerce, Senior Advisor to the Mayor of the City of Indianapolis for Economic Development and Workforce Development and President of the Indianapolis Economic Development Corporation.

Named by Governing magazine as one of the nation’s best economic development officials, Larry is a regular speaker and panelist at national site selection conferences and has authored numerous articles for national publications. In addition, he was instrumental in the launch and leadership of the Indianapolis and Central Indiana Technology Partnership (TechPoint), an initiative designed to nurture growing and emerging technology companies throughout Indiana.  Larry currently serves on the Board of Directors for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and is a member of the Site Selectors Guild.

Larry received his Bachelors of Science degree in political science from Indiana University Bloomington.

 

Eric StavriotisEric Stavriotis is a senior vice president in the Chicago Occupier Practice Group and is a leader of CBRE’s Economic Incentive Solutions Group. Eric brings more than 13 years of experience working across North America and has negotiated more than $1 billion in incentives for clients. Eric has worked across all industry verticals and project types.

Prior to joining CBRE, Eric was a member of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Business and Economic Incentives Group, where he focused on site selection and incentive negotiations, incentive administration, labor strategy, location advisory, footprint configuration and overall real estate strategy.  Prior to his role at Jones Lang LaSalle, Eric served as director of consulting at Pollina Corporate Real Estate Inc. Eric’s responsibilities included acting as lead engagement manager for clients, performing location advisory, economic incentives negotiations and tenant representation services.

Eric is the author and a frequent contributor to several business publications, including Area Development Magazine, Commercial Property News, Financial Times, Business Facilities, Real Estate Forum and Shopping Centers Today.  ​Eric is a licensed Illinois real estate broker, a member of National Lekotek Ambassadors and also a board member for both AquaPro and Team Kick Cancer.

Eric received his Bachelor of Science degree in finance and marketing from Miami University and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Minnesota Law School.

 

Scott KuppermanScott Kupperman formed Lake Forest, IL-based Kupperman Location Services “KLS,” a corporate consulting entity providing site-selection and associated facility-acquisition services across the U.S., in 2011. KLS focuses on providing comprehensive, site consulting services designed to maximize the long-term value of a well-informed facility location decision. This initiative was driven by the desire to independently utilize 15 years of site-selection experience, client relationships and nationwide contacts and resources. Scott’s capabilities make him particularly well suited to provide a very strong value proposition for clients in need of warehouse, distribution and light manufacturing facility solutions. Scott has a history of serving clients with a variety of product types with specific manufacturing and distribution needs, with a particular focus on companies involved in all aspects of the food industry.

Scott spent 12 years with A. Epstein and Sons International, Inc., a Chicago-based architectural/engineering/construction firm. Scott’s 25 plus years of experience also includes more than 11 years of experience working for one of Florida’s largest community developers. Scott’s background includes the marketing, permitting and acquisition and disposition of over $300 million in land assets to a diversified array of retailers, developers and jurisdictional bodies. Over the past 15 years, Scott has worked with clients to provide site selection analyses, site acquisition support, due diligence exercises, entitlement and permitting assignments, and incentive identification and negotiation.

Scott is a frequent speaker and contributor to professional trade groups and publications associated with the site selection and economic development industry. In 2014, he served on the Editorial Advisory Board for Area Development Magazine.

Scott received his Bachelor of Science and Management from Tulane University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami.

Minah Hall

Minah HallMinah Hall is a managing director in True Partners Consulting’s Chicago office and specializes in negotiating incentives and financial incentives for companies changing their operations.  With over a decade of experience negotiating and implementing state and local tax credits and incentives for distribution and manufacturing facilities, data centers, back office/call center operations, retailers and corporate headquarter relocations, Minah excels at creating benefits for companies making extraordinary expenditures.

Prior to joining True Partners Consulting, Minah was a manager at two Big Four public accounting firms in Chicago.  Minah negotiated tax incentives for companies at every stage of development, from Fortune 500, mid-sized and start-up companies.  Minah also prepared cost burden analyses for various companies to help quantify the available opportunities and the cost/benefit comparisons of locating at specific sites. In addition to her client responsibilities, Minah actively participates in state-sponsored focus groups aiding the development of the jurisdictions’ incentives programs – specifically for Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Michigan, Texas, Utah and the joint Kansas-Missouri effort focused on Kansas City. Her involvement and relationships with public sector officials makes her a valuable asset when advising corporate clients.

Minah is involved in the Institute of Professionals in Taxation, of which she is the overall education chair for Credits and Incentives and is a Certified Credits & Incentives Professional (CCIP), as well as a speaker for various conferences including Consultant’s Forum, Women in Economic Development Forum and the Chicago Tax Club. Minah serves on the executive board of the University of Illinois Real Estate Alumni Forum.

Minah received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.  Minah is an active member of the Illinois State Bar.

Betty 2Betty McIntosh is a senior managing director at Cushman & Wakefield’s Global Consulting Group. Betty has over 20 years’ experience in assisting major U.S. and international clients in making strategic decisions related to expansion.  Betty has represented clients in many different fields, including automotive, consumer markets, industrial products, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and steel to name a few. Betty has conducted site selections and assisted in developing financial strategies for numerous clients, including Hyundai, DaimlerChrysler, Mobis, Ford Motor, Benteler Automotive and more.  Betty obtains tax and operational savings for various types of projects through her strong relationships, tax knowledge and negotiation skills.

Prior to be promoted to managing director of the business incentives practice of  Cushman & Wakefield, Betty was a director of the location incentives group. Betty was also a partner of the state and local tax team at KPMG, LLC.

Betty is nationally recognized as an expert on economic development issues and has been quoted in publications including The Wall Street Journal, Tax Management and CFO Magazine. Betty is currently Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of MultiState Taxation and Incentives. Betty is a Certified Public Accountant and serves on the board of directors and is a member of the executive committee for the Georgia Foreign Trade Zone Association.

Betty received a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Mississippi and a Masters in Taxation from the University of Memphis.

Derith Jarvis

Derith JarvisAs managing partner of Mohr’s Site Selection and Incentive team, Derith oversees all site selection activities for national accounts and one-off transactions in markets across North America. Mohr Partners’ site selection department deliverables include market availability analysis, mergers and acquisitions support, comparable studies, real estate market trend analysis, labor and demographic analyses and GIS mapping to name a few. Derith also personally oversees the process of negotiating economic incentives at all levels of government on behalf of Mohr’s clients. Derith joined Mohr Partners in 2006 as the Director of Research and Site Selection.

Prior to joining Mohr Partners, Derith spent 8 years with Nielsen Media Research, a leading provider of television audience measurement and related services. During his time at Nielsen, his responsibilities included preparation of sample market analyses, including demographic studies, and managing the demographic makeup of assigned Nielsen samples. He was also responsible for implementation of several different research methodologies and overall field operations management for Nielsen’s New York market.

Derith has been a featured speaker at various industry events including Expansion Management’s Roundtable in the South, Consultant Connect, Southern Economic Development Council’s Meet the Consultants, Area Development’s Consultant Forum, Teamwork Louisiana Conference, Kentucky United Economic Development Conference and several other state economic development conferences.

In 2008, Derith was named Mohr Partners’ Mentor of the Year. He also served in the United States Navy for four years and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.

Susan ArledgeSusan Arledge, SIOR and Global Leader of Cresa’s Site Selection Services, focuses her efforts on providing tenant focused real estate brokerage and site selection services for clients locally, nationally and globally.  As head of Cresa’s Dallas office as well as Cresa’s Global Site Selection team, Susan focuses on finding locations that reduce attrition, increase productivity, improve quality of service and allows clients to remain competitive by finding a labor force that meets their quality standards. A recognized author and frequent speaker on the skills required for site selection, incentive negotiations and tenant representation, Susan was recognized by D CEO Magazine as the ‘Most Read Contributing Editor for 2012 and 2013’ for her real estate blog entries.

Prior to the taking the helm at Cresa Dallas, Susan led Arledge Partners Real Estate Group; was a Senior Vice President with The Swearingen Company, where she was the Top Producer in 1990 and a Top Ten Producer each prior year. Susan was also a Senior Vice President with The Staubach Company for seven years where she earned the distinction of being the Company’s Top Producer and a Top Five Producer.

She served on the Board of Directors for the Children’s Cancer Fund, currently serves on the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association and chaired the AHA’s 2011 Go Red for Women Luncheon.

Susan graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. She served as a member of the Administrative Board of Highland Park United Methodist Church, Texas Exes Alumni Association and is a graduate of the Leadership Dallas program.

Susan is a former private pilot, a Dallas native and has two children.

Cresa Dallas is a certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council and certified as a HUB by the State of Texas.

Kathy Mussio

Kathy Mussio Kathy is a co-founder and Managing Partner at Atlas Insight with over 22 years of combined experience as a management, incentive and site selection consultant. She is widely considered an industry expert in the site selection and incentive negotiation business. Her consulting career has focused on securing incentives for various projects as well as helping site selection clients to select optimal locations for expansion projects.

Kathy has conducted successful negotiations for some of the world’s largest corporations. While the majority of Atlas’ clients are companies in the Fortune 500, Kathy has also assisted small to mid-sized companies with projects in various industries. Kathy has an expertise in working on highly complex real estate development projects, including working with New Markets Tax Credits, Brownfield Tax Credits and various other land use entitlements.

Kathy is a reliable opinion source for trade publications and AP stories and has been a frequent guest of state governments to assist with development of strategic plans to attract business investment. Kathy has also written numerous expert articles for regional and national publications.

Before co-founding Atlas Insight, Kathy was a Regional Practice Leader in the Business Location Incentive and Site Selection group at BDO.

Kathy holds a Master of Science in Real Estate from New York University.

Dennis Cuneo

Dennis Cuneo is currently a management consultant and a partner in a national labor law firm. With a wide range of interests and expertise, Dennis has built a successful career solving a variety of business challenges, with a focus on legal challenges, public policy and economic development and human resources/labor relations. In addition to heading his own consulting firm, D.C. Strategic Advisors LLC, Dennis is a Regional Managing Partner at Fisher & Phillips LLP. He serves on the boards of two Fortune 500 companies, a privately held engineering and construction firm, an auto industry think tank and academic institutions. Dennis also serves as an advisor to several high tech companies.

Dennis was formerly a senior vice president of Toyota Motor North America, where he was in charge of accounting, corporate advertising, corporate communications, human resources, investor relations, industry & government relations, information systems, legal, strategic planning and the Latin American research group. Dennis also served as the company’s corporate secretary and chief environmental officer and was its chief spokesperson. Prior to joining Toyota, Dennis was an attorney with Arent Fox and a trial attorney in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.

Dennis currently serves on the Boards of AK Steel Holding Corporation, BorgWarner Inc. and the Center for Automotive Research. Dennis serves on the Board of Loyola University in New Orleans and is a member of the Visiting Committee of the University of Chicago’s Physical Sciences Division. Dennis previously served as Chair of the Cincinnati Branch of the Federal Reserve of Cleveland and was a member of the executive committee of the National Association of Manufacturers, where he also chaired the Human Resources Policy Group.

Dennis received a Juris Doctor from the Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans; a Masters of Business Administration from Kent State University and a Bachelor of Science from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Rose Burden

Rose BurdenRose Burden is an Executive Director and the Southeast Leader for the Business Tax Credit and Incentives Practice at Ernst & Young LLP, a US member firm of the global EY organization.

Rose assumes a leadership role in identifying business incentive opportunities for clients in the six-state region.  She has secured millions of dollars in savings for clients with facility or capital investment expansion projects.  Rose has also helped clients realize significant benefits in areas such as state and local grants, local property tax reductions, training program grants and tax credits, expedited permitting, reduced land costs, sales and use tax abatements, enterprise zone benefits, income tax credits, infrastructure grants and utility rate reductions.

Rose has more than 25 years of project management and economic development experience in local and statewide development.  She has served as the lead project manager on numerous corporate relocation and expansion projects in industry sectors such as financial services, telecommunications, technology, broadcasting and entertainment networks and manufacturing and distribution.

Rose has facilitated the approval of property tax and other incentives for more than 200 Fortune 100 projects in North America and globally.  She has an exceptional track record of establishing relationships and building support teams with key government officials and the private sector, delivering positive economic impact projects for clients and communities.  A primary goal is to maximize business incentives and bottom line savings for clients.

Prior to joining the firm, Rose directed economic development and corporate expansion programs for Fulton County (Atlanta based), and was a former senior site selection project manager for Oglethorpe Power Corporation.

Rose received her BS in Business and Marketing from Florida State University.  She is a graduate of the Economic Development Institute – University of Oklahoma.  Rose completed economic development certificate requirements from Georgia Institute of Technology.  She is a Real Estate Licensed Professional in the state of Georgia.
